Here is an overview of my planed cycle tour of Ecuador with each city/village and the distance between them. I plan on cycling 50km per day, but that might not always be possible. The tour will start in Quito, then east to the E45, then all the way down to Vilcabamba with some side road venture in the jungle along the way in the Misahualli and Costa Azul area. The return will be via the E25, with a stop to the pacific ocean in Machala.

- Average speed of 12.5 km/h x 4hr = 50 km/day
- Average 50km/day x 47days + 16days rest = 63 days
During this trip I plan on sleeping in a hammock-tent suspended between trees, and wash up in lakes and rivers, sometimes in public washrooms, whenever I decide to dine out at a restaurant... should be interesting.
The bike is a freeride, full suspension ORYX Spitfire99.
A little heavy for touring, but that's what I'm used to.
... and it's not a big bike - it's a small tank =)
